Team and Clubs

Glashan Sports

Sports are a big part of Glashan's extracurricular program with hundreds of students getting involved each year on over 40 different teams in total. Schedules are posted weekly outside the gym and in most classrooms. Teams practice most often during the nutrition breaks but will sometimes have a before-school or after-school practice if the gyms are especially busy or if more time is needed. Please ask your child to listen closely to the day's announcements to find out about any changes and to check the schedule which is usually posted on Thursday or Friday.

This initiative is supported and staffed by the OCDSB Continuing Education department. The program provides students with a supervised opportunity to complete, review, practice, and organize their work in order to help them achieve greater success at school as well as move them towards provincial standards in Mathematics/Language Arts. The Glashan Homework Program also supports students from Glebe and Lisgar whichare our designated high schools

The program operates Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with Glashan students permitted to attend from 3:30 until 5:00p.m.
The program is open to all Glashan students and is an ideal way for students who might be working on a collaborative project to work together in a supervised setting. Students will have access to our computer lab and/or the use of their own personal devices. Please be advised that the expectations regarding behavior and the use of personal devices are the same as during regular instructional time.
The ratio of staff students is 1:10. There is also a site supervisor responsible for the smooth operation of the program and will be present at all times.
